The Romantic Relationship of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham

Stevie Nicks “It was my 16th birthday - my mom and dad gave me my Goya classical guitar that day. I sat down, wrote this song, and I just knew that that was the only thing I could ever really do - write songs and sing them to people.”

I Have Been to the Mountaintop

Martin Luther King

Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop.

And I don't mind

Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!

Henna and Hair

There are a lot of interesting sites in a salon.  As you scan the perimeter of any salon there are women looking their absolute worst.  There are various root and over all color, as well as stacks of foils that look like something from the movie Alien.  I have become a frequent customer at the threading/henna salon.  The threading process just takes minutes and the charge is $10 dollars or less. Waxing for a face at a salon will run around $25.

I have not used many of the services at the Henna salon.  My first shock was seeing someone with henna on their hair.  It was more  fascinating than all the foils that one could have on their head. After finishing the henna application on the client, the attendant was wiping up the floor with a paper towel and a bare foot.  When she motioned for me to come to her chair, I approached it very carefully.  I asked about the henna on the hair and she said it must stay on for two hours.  The client went to the door, paid and walked to her car.  I hoped that she got home without incident because the hair was quite a mess.  Apparently the client is instructed that after two hours they should go outside and wash the hair with a water hose.  I assume that the weather needs to be warm and that outdoors is preferred because henna will stain everything in site.

I am not sure of the cost, but this looks like a hassle.   If you have to leave the salon without removing the product, then the styling is left up to the client.  However, the result is truly beautiful.
After Henna

Someday I would like to have henna done on my hands or arms.  However,  I am not sure henna would fly in the board room as Donald Trump would say.

The Filter Building

1.  It looks a bit rustic and may need more flowers.
(It has concrete floors and looks like an old empty building.)

2.  What happened to using a church?
(Does anyone use the  family church anymore?)

3.  Does this building have restrooms?
     (Never visited them.)

4.  Where is the nice carpeted parlor room for the bride to dress?
(There is an upstairs room with concrete floors.)

5.   How will the wedding party know where to stand if there is no rehearsal?
(Access to the building is limited to the day of the wedding.)

6.  What if it rains or is cold?
(The wedding guests needed to go outside after the wedding so that the room could be
rearranged for the dinner, dancing and the band.)

7.  Will guests be able to find this secluded location?
(It was on a winding road around White Rock Lake.)

8.  How many guests will this building hold?
(The replies for attendance were larger than this building holds.)

9.  Can it be properly heated and cooled?
(It is an old building with high ceilings.)

10.  Are there enough parking spaces?
(If they park along the street they will be towed away.)

11.  Have other weddings been held here?
(This is a popular location for weddings, with many pictures of the happy day.)

Jeff before Proposal at White Rock Lake
The wedding was beautiful.  It was a warm, sunny day with people enjoying visiting  outside while overlooking the lake.  I kept referring to the building as a church because there was a beautiful sermon (by the bride's brother-in-law) with scriptures, the vows, and a prayer by the brother of the groom.  The wedding party dressed at the hotel before coming to the Filter except the bride.  The upstairs room was perfect for the bride.  The wedding party rehearsed at the restaurant at the Rehearsal Dinner.  Everyone seemed to know where their places were even though rehearsing took place in a foreign location.  Signs  placed in strategic locations near the Filter Building helped guests locate the building.

The bridal couple created a fabulous wedding with incredible music. Who could ask for more than strings, a DJ, and a Beatles tribute band?  It was a day full of fantastic  memories.

James sang "Rock and Roll Music" with the band
From Us to You (Beatles Tribute Band) at the wedding of Jeff & Carla.
Jeff & Carla joined James at the end of the song.  The crowd loved it!
